Garden Route Tours is one of South Africa’s most spectacular road trips, stretching over 124 miles (200km) along the southwestern coast. On this tour, travel from Cape Town to George, stopping along the way to explore natural wonders such as Cango Caves, Knysna Lagoon, and Robberg Nature Reserve; visit the towns of Knysna, Oudtshoorn, and Mossel Bay; and enjoy activities including wine tasting, a cruise to Seal Island, and an Ostrich Farm tour.

Stop 1 :De Krans Wines
Guests leave Cape Town at 08h30 and travel through some of the wine-producing valleys of the Winelands. Each valley is graced with great scenic beauty. Finding our way into the unique Klein Karoo by way of the superb Cogmanskloof Pass, we travel the Route 62 passing through a string of picturesque small towns set in this uniquely beautiful scenery. Enjoy lunch and wine tasting and lunch platter at Die Krans in Calitzdorp, an internationally renowned award winning Wine Estate.
Stop 2 : Highgate Ostrich Show Farm
We arrive in the town of Oudtshoorn, undisputed “ostrich capital” of the world. Our itinerary includes a visit to a fascinating Ostrich Show Farm where flocks of these strange birds are kept. We are shown their development from the egg to the 100 kg adult. Overnight in Oudtshoorn in a 4 star Guest House.
Stop 1 : The Cango Caves
The day begins with the Cango Caves heritage Tour. Visit one of the great wonders of Africa – the subterranean wonderland of Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering drip-stones.
Stop 2 : The Waterfront Knysna Quays
After lunch we head over the Outeniqua Pass to Knysna. En Route we stop at the Wilderness for an optional Craft Beer or Gin tasting. We arrive in Knysna in the late afternoon. Enjoy an Optional Cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. There is a choice between Yachts, Ferries and Cruisers. Sip a Sun-downer at the Knysna Yacht Club before dinner at the Knysna Quays. Stop 1 : Natures Valley Beach
Today we drive to The Tsitsikamma National Park. We visit Plettenberg Bay and try to spot the local dolphins at play. Visit Natures Valley and take a walk along one of the most pristine beaches in South Africa. View ancient giant Yellowwood trees.
Stop 2 : Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary
Optional Tours include: Monkeyland, Birds of Eden or the Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. In the late afternoon we return to Knysna. Enjoy a Sun-downer at the Knysna Yacht Club before Enjoying a barbaqu at the Knysna yacht Club.
The Dias Museum We visit the Diaz Museum, Aquarium and the Cape St Blaiz Lighthouse. We also take a boat cruise to Seal island to see, up close, hundreds of Cape Fur Seals. Duration: 2 hours Admission
